Hall of Fame Class of 2007
One of the most popular players in Wichita State history, Jaime Bluma set Shocker records in saves and appearances. The two-time All-Missouri Valley pitcher led the WSU to three College World Series appearances and was 16-5 with a 2.35 earned run average over his collegiate career.
Bluma was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the third round of the 1994 draft. Two seasons later, he joined the Royals and appeared in 17 games, saving five games in five opportunities.
Projected as the Royals closer in 1997, Bluma injured his shoulder and missed the entire season. He split parts of the next three seasons between Omaha and Wichita before retiring in 2000.
Bluma has worked for baseball academies in the Kansas City area and has served as a pitching coach in the Alaska League.
