Dick Casidy was born in Wichita in 1939, graduated from East High School and played baseball and basketball at Wichita State University.

Casidy played professionally in the San Francisco Giants organization but was best known for playing in twelve NBC World Series.  He was a power hitter who played for the 1963 champion Wichita Rapid Transit Dreamliners and the 1964 champion Wichita Service Auto Glass.

Casidy also played with the John Weitzel Cowboys, the Boeing Bo-Jets, the Sunflower Packers and Liberal BeeJays.  He also pitched and relied on a knuckleball. 

After his playing days, he moved to Overland Park where he was area sales manager for a subsidiary of the Coleman Co.  Casidy died in 2019 at the age of 80.
