A catcher, C.E. Heimple was a member of two traveling baseball teams – the Bloomer Girls in 1906 and the Elks Club in 1907.
Tragically, Hale lost an arm in an accident at the age of 19, but continued to be involved in baseball. He established a dry cleaning business and served as vice-president of the Kansas Baseball Association for seven years.
In his later years he was a farmer. He died in September of 1966 at the age of 77.
