Jack Holland was born in Texas in 1873 played 13 seasons of professional baseball. From 1905 to 1909, he was player-manager for the Class C Wichita Jobbers.
Playing first base, Holland hit .305 for the 1907 team, widely considered one of the greatest minor league teams of all time. They finished 98-35, easily winning the Western Association.
Following the 1909 season, Holland moved with the team to the St. Joseph, Mo. He brought the franchise to Hutchinson in 1917 but left for Oklahoma City after one season. He stopped managing after the 1919 season and lived in Oklahoma City for the remainder of his life. He died in 1936 at the age of 62.
