John Keenan
Hall of Fame Class of 1988
Carrying on a family tradition of scouting, John Keenan followed the lead of his grandfather, Bert Wells, a respected scout for the Dodgers.
Keenan served 36 years as a scout for the Dodgers. He became a supervisor of scouting in a district that included 24 states in the Midwest and was a national cross-checker. He scouted the NBC tournaments in all his 36 years of service.
Wells and Keenan are the only grandfather-grandson duo in the Kansas Baseball Hall of Fame. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, Keenen died in 2015 at the age of 74.
