Dayton Moore joined the Kansas City Royals in 2006 and has transformed the franchise from a last-place team into the 2015 World Series champions.
Born in Wichita, Moore played baseball at Garden City Community College and George Mason University. While working on a graduate degree at GMU, Moore managed the Winchester Royals of the Shenandoah Valley League from 1991-93.
Moore joined the Atlanta Braves in 1994 as an area scouting supervisor and was promoted to the front office in 1996. He progressed through scouting and operations positions and was named Assistant General Manager in 2005. That same year, Baseball America named Moore one of ten “up and coming power brokers” in major league baseball.
In Kansas City, Moore began to build the Royals’ farm system. By 2011, it was rated the best in baseball.
In 2023, Moore left the Royals organization and joined the Texas Rangers.
