Born in Wichita in 1925, Minor Scott was a three-sport star at Wichita East High School in basketball, football and baseball.  In baseball, he played third base and usually led off in the batting lineup.

Scott signed with the Washington Senators in 1943.  After a season at Class D Batavia (NY), Scott began the 1944 season in Chattanooga but was drafted in July.  He served in Okinawa, Japan and was awarded a bronze star.

Scott also served in the Philippines, in Manila, and played for the Manila Dodgers.  They won the Pacific Olympics baseball championship and played a five-game series with the National League All-Starts in January of 1946.

Scott returned to professional baseball in 1947.  His Pensacola team in 1949 was named one of the 100 top minor league teams in 2001.  In 1950 with the AA Atlanta Crackers, Scott played behind future Hall of Fame third baseman Eddie Matthews.

In 1951, Scott retired from professional baseball and returned home to Wichita to work for Boeing.  He played in twelve NBC World Series, including 1954 and 55 for the champion Bombers.

Scott also managed a team that included Satchel Paige.
