William Roderick “Tex” Jones was born in Marion in 1885. He spent the month of April with the Chicago White Sox in 1911. He played first base and appeared in nine games. He had six hits and handled 108 chances without an error at first base.
Jones died in Wichita in 1938 at the age of 52.
