Clifton “Runt” Marr was the colorful owner of the Fort Smith (AR) Giants of the Western Association in the 1930s.
After World War II, he co-founded the KOM (Kansas-Oklahoma-Missouri) Class D League. He then launched a long career as scout for the St. Louis Cardinals that lasted from the 1950s until his death.
Marr signed Cloyd and Ken Boyer for the Cardinals and also scouted for Detroit, Cleveland, Kansas City and the New York Mets. As a scout, Marr was a regular at the NBC World Series in Wichita.
Marr died in 1981 at the age of 89.
