Lew Morton, who was born in Fort Scott, played on Enidairs, the powerful teams from the Enid (OK) Army Air Field that came to the NBC World Series in the 1940s.
Morton was an all-tournament outfielder in 1943, as the Enidairs lost the championship to the Camp Wheeler (GA) Spokes.
Morton went on to play professionally in the 1950s and 1960s. He became a scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1970s and 80s. He died in 1996 at the age of 75.
